A* is one of the very important algorithms for understanding how you can improve graph traversal (finding the most optimal path). We will improve Dijkstra's algorithm, which we showed last time. It searched for the shortest path through the graph without taking into account the position of the target. So it made a circle around the starting point.

All the optimization algorithms that we have tried so far modified one randomly generated solution, modified it and, under certain conditions, accepted it for the next "round". The algorithm that await us now work on a slightly different principle. Instead of one solution, we will generate several random solutions and they will influence each other.

Simulated Annealing is inspired by annealing in metallurgy. It consists in heating the metal to a high temperature and then slowly cooling it. In this way, the internal structure of the metal is first broken and then very slowly "repaired". This results in a metal that has significantly better properties than at the beginning of the process.
